Voices from Sexualized Places brings together four first-person accounts of cruising across Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey. Each voice approaches these spaces differently: as places of desire, recognition, risk, negotiation or temporary escape. The film moves between spoken testimonies and images of parks, streets, shorelines and urban locations whose ordinary appearance conceals their social use.

The title describes a process, not a fixed category. These places acquire sexual meaning through repeated gestures, codes, timings and encounters, while remaining unreadable to passers-by. A location may serve several lives at once: public space by day, a meeting point at night, or a private memory carried long after departure.

By placing geographically distant experiences beside one another, the film traces a regional vocabulary without presenting cruising as a universal experience. Similar gestures can carry different meanings depending on place, time and history. The speakers are not shown, allowing their voices to guide how each landscape is perceived. The work asks how public space is quietly rewritten by those who inhabit it discreetly, and how places can hold experiences that leave no monument or official record. What remains is voice, atmosphere and the memory of an encounter.
